Not necessarily. In most of Central California, you often don’t need a permit for sheds that are 120 square feet or less. At 100 square feet, a 10×10 shed doesn’t require a building permit. However, your shed still must meet certain height and zoning requirements. You can find and confirm requirements with your local officials using our California permit guide.
